Villa Vista is the perfect location to escape the chaos of city life and just take a breath. Here you’ll find the true peace of the hill country; with its mountain air and nothing but the soft sounds of nature, it is a surprise to many how few travellers know of this Sri Lankan gem. CNN named Haputale as one of Asia’s most overlooked destinations and so we invite you. Come and see. Don’t overlook paradise.

location
The house is situated in the Haputale valley and overlooks the breath taking Haputale mountain range. As the villa sits on a raised mound of land within the valley, it provides the guest with endless panoramic views of the sweeping jungle and hills of the Uva Province. Nearby you’ll find Sri Lanka’s famous Horton Plains National Park as well as the Diyaluma Falls and Lipton’s Seat (a sight glorious enough to rival World’s End). Villa Vista is the perfect starting point for any number of the natural and cultural sites that Haputale has to offer.
activities
  • Take a trip to Yala National Park to see elephants, water buffalo, leopards, deer and exotic birds. (2 hour drive)
  • If you’re a nature lover, be sure to check out the Shirohana flower farms dotted all around the area. Get a guided tour of the flower farms and see for your self how some of the best quality flowers in Sri Lanka are grown and cared for.
  • There are four nature trails directly around the property and the Villa Vista staff are happy to lead you on private excursions. Through the jungle you’re sure to come across waterfalls as well as rare and endemic wildlife. A tailor-made picnic can also be arranged.
  • If you’re missing the sea, why not make the 3 hour drive to Arugam Bay and spend a night on the East Coast’s most beautiful strip of beach.
